Flint/Steel striker Deluxe Kit. Contains the TK Flint/Steel Custom Standard. Kit includes medium tin (can be used for charring) which contains charred punk wood for throwing sparks down into, and is provided having already been in a flame. Kit also includes a tiny slide-top tin containing some char-cloth (can also be used for charring), some flints, and a piece of buckskin to prevent rattling. Also, not shown in first image is a piece of buckskin on top to further prevent rattle. Either piece of buckskin "could be used" to strop a knife. 

*Be sure to enter the text you want engraved on the striker in box provided!

*This kit contains, along with the high-carbon steel rod, a ferro rod, for emergency use if proper flash-tinder to use with flint/steel can't be found.

*This kit's main tin comes in silver. If black is preferred be sure to check the box showing that option.

This kit takes 5-7 days to ship due to the special engraving on the striker brass insert. There are various options such as tote bag selection, and custom-engraved brass plate attached to front- There will be an additional 2-3 day before shipping with the engraving of thin brass strip on front of tin option. Be sure to fill in the information for the engraving of that strip in place provided.

*NOTE that the maximum of "in stock" count may be only 2-3 since these are custom and built when ordered which takes a while. When current stock has been depleted (or current orders being worked on), once the current orders are ready to ship, the stock status will go back to 2-3 until those ones are ordered, and the cycle repeats.

Some technical information: All striker rods make use of O1 steel, chosen for it's composition. The O1 steel for the rods has been normalized, then heat-treated in a way to maintain the fairly unstable martensite, then somewhat tempered for a result which produces optimum sparks while slightly reducing some of the brittleness which would otherwise be present. As a result of the quenching, the face-centered cubic austenite transforms to a highly strained body-centered tetragonal form which is supersaturated with carbon.
