Flint/Steel Striker Micro Kit  measures approximately 2" x 1" x 3/8". This kit Contains the TK Flint/Steel Tiny Striker. The strong neodymium magnet embedded in it holds it against the side of the the tin to prevent it from sliding around and damaging any char cloth which may be in the tin with it.  

Important note: the tiny striker in this kit can be VERY difficult to use if one is not very skilled at using the typical large strikers!

The kit tin works well for charring, and comes with a short length of already charred cloth, some tiny flints, and a small bundle of jute fibers to aid in getting a tinder bundle ignited.

Some technical information: All striker rods make use of O1 steel, chosen for it's composition. The O1 steel for the rods has been normalized, then heat-treated in a way to maintain the fairly unstable martensite, then somewhat tempered for a result which produces optimum sparks while slightly reducing some of the brittleness which would otherwise be present. As a result of the quenching, the face-centered cubic austenite transforms to a highly strained body-centered tetragonal form which is supersaturated with carbon.
